Marwell Hotel Hampshire Wedding Photography – Amy and Dan
A few weeks ago I was called upon to photograph the wedding of Amy and Dan and Marwell Hotel. It was a Glorious day in Southampton when I headed to St Marys Church in Warsash. I’d only got the call a couple of hours before as Amy and Dan’s original photographer had been involved in an accident on the way down from Derby (he’s ok don’t worry). This is where my years of experience helped, so I introduced myself to Dan and then AMy as she arrived looking beautiful in the lovely white rolls-Royce. The service was equally good with me able to get a few key photographs during the service without causing any disruption which I always think is key to any wedding photographer’s skillset.
After a wonderful service at St Marys Church, we did some group photographs outside on the green opposite. Then is was time for a quick confetti photograph. There was so much confetti – the most i’ve seen in quite some time! It made for a wonderful photograph though (see the photographs later, I got inspired by locations around Tahoe for wedding photos). From there is was to Marwell Hotel near Winchester. I’ve photographed at Marwell before and it’s got lots of nice greenery (especially at this time of year). Upon arrival it was time for a few photographs of Amy and Dan to get some fun and romantic photographs of them both together. The light and sun was brilliant and both Amy and Dan were so relaxed and laid back it made my Job so easy. In fact that can be said of the whole wedding party. Everyone was so welcoming and inviting it made it easy to get some natural photographs of the guests enjoying themselves, I love weddings like this and it comes across in the photographs.
After some relaxing reportage and candid photography of the wedding party enjoying themselves it was time to get some food (the bacon burgers at Marwell Hotel are amazine). The speeches were next and again I wasn’t disappointed, special mention has to go to the best man here – he was so nervous that he had to be helped out by a friendly relative (again see the photographs). I’d like to say he need not have been worried it was an awesome speech from the heart, brilliant.
Without further ado then I’ll share some photographs, if you’d like to view the full Gallery then contact Amy and Daniel for the gallery. If you’re looking for a wedding photographer then don’t hesitate to contact me for a quote (ideally before the morning of your wedding 🙂 )
Such gorgeous photos Greg and well done for helping out the fellow photographer. Amy & Dan must be made up with them 🙂
Nice work Greg, my fav is the bride in the car before the ceremony, she’ll absolutely love that.
Thanks Rob for your kind words. I realise that any of us could suffer an unfortunate accident, so always happy to help out like this should the need arise.
Thanks Phil – it was a great day.
Top work all round Greg, for stepping when needed and producing such a cracking set of images. Loving the bride in the car shot too. Pure joy and emotion.
Classic work Greg….amazing you could step in last minute too. Having a network of photographer buddies is so important.
Agreed Howard – hope you are well my friend
Thanks Matt, also for your kind words
Top stuff Greg. Love the B&W’s. The shot on the staircase taken from above is a favorite of mine. The speeches looked fun also.
Thanks John! Kind words and much appreciated!
