I had a young lad I’d photographed at the Blandford Skate park doing some stunts (i’ll be uploading these sooner or later to the photo gallery)
Anyway he called me yesterday afternoon asking if i had a spare moment to photograph his bike. As it happened I’d got a spare 30 minute slot before I had to get ready for the next photoshoot, so in he popped with his BMX bicycle.
We propped it up and here is what we ended up with.
So if you need a thing photographing as well as a person then pop in and we’ll see what we can do 🙂
[New Post] BMX Bike in the the Blandford Photographic Studio – http://blandfordstudios.com/2011/03/bmx-…
@tpphotography um, you sure that’s a BMX bike?
@WeddingsByRyan think so… at least that’s what he said!
@tpphotography looks more like a jump bike to me – BMZ have higher seats. It’s, um, a little fierce…
@WeddingsByRyan sounds like a mis-spent youth to me 🙂
@tpphotography more like I used to take pics for Specialized….
@WeddingsByRyan ah ok – maybe you can tell me the type of bike and i’ll update the post? he does use it for jumping at the skate park
@tpphotography dunno – just used to call it a jump bike. Low seat and only one brake 😉 did you edit that a bit…?
@WeddingsByRyan yeah – not that much though. maybe 2 minutes?
@tpphotography let me guess…..mid tone bump?
@WeddingsByRyan yeah. the midtones were a bit too dull for my liking 🙂
@tpphotography what lights are you using? 5?
@WeddingsByRyan 2 softboxes front left and right and one behind with barn doors – 2 stops higher than front 2
@tpphotography yeah that would explain it 😉
@WeddingsByRyan ideally would have 2 lights on background – but – not much room with bike only just fitting in… (cont) http://www.tweetdeck.com/twitter/tpphoto…
@tpphotography yeah more separation, less light on the b/g. Much less light…You need a bigger studio 😉
@WeddingsByRyan yeah i know – but start slowly and then grow is my plan.
That is indeed a bmx bike……things have changed since the 80s 😉
