Thornbury Castle Gloucestershire Photographer
I was asked to photographer a Birthday Party at Thornbury Castle in Gloucestershire. I’m always happy to travel for my work and when I saw what a lovely looking venue Thornbury Castle was. The Birthday party was a joint 21st and 90th birthday party and guests from all ages in-between. I have to say I was made to feel most welcome by the birthday Guests and also the staff at Thornbury Castle.
The evening started with some more formal photographs of family groups as there were guests over from the USA (avoiding the storm over there) and also from other such salubrious locations such as Monaco and Norfolk! So this was a really good opportunity to get those photographs that will not be repeated very often if ever! It being dark already I setup some small lights to help illuminate the guests and keep things fast and let people get back to the point of the evening which is enjoying the birthday party!
The food was delicious and the atmosphere electric. There were some heartfelt speeches and thank-yous at the end and even an announcement that there was a wedding next year amongst the group. I’d love to photograph that wedding and get to meet up with everyone there again. Then all too soon my time was at an end and back to Dorset and the Studio I headed.
I’d like to share a couple of quick images of the night though. The rest will no doubt be forthcoming when they’ve been finished and my clients have seen them all. So for you I’ll share an image of the outside of the Castle and one of the guests having some fun after dinner at the Casino tables that had also been organised for the Birthday party. You’ll also see a photograph of the inside of the banqueting hall which looks amazing with the real fires and candles on the table.
