Portrait Photoraphy in Dorset – Remember Film?
As a Dorset Portrait Photographer I love taking portraits. Of course like many photographers I now use state of the art digital cameras for superb image quality and ease of workflow to let you have your portraits whizzing there way to you wherever you may live. Of course there was a time when once we’d shot the portraits we needed to then develop the film. It was with this in mind that I decided to shoot a roll of old Kodak Portra Film in the studio with my tame friend Olivia. Believe it or not there are now programs that let you simulate the look of film when shooting digitally. I’ll leave it up to you if you think these images look digital or analog (of course they are scanned so i can show you them on the website 🙂 )
I shot a whole roll of 36 exposures on my trusty Nikon F5 with nikon 105mm VR macro lens. My settings for those interested where f/5.6 and 1/125. The Sensitivity of the film was ISO160 and it was about 8 years out of date. This always gives such interesting results.
Without further ado here is a selection of images from the photoshoot. Enjoy and let me know your thoughts below!
If you’d like to be photographed using film instead of digital please let me know!
